Senior Manager of Business Development Training

Overview

A leading global professional services firm is seeking a Senior Manager, Business Development Training to design and lead a firmwide training program focused on enhancing business development capabilities. This high-impact role will build and implement a structured, multi-level curriculum that supports professionals at all career stages, from foundational skills to advanced client development strategies.

Acting as the organization's internal curriculum architect, this individual will collaborate closely with senior leadership, business development, and professional development teams to align training initiatives with strategic growth objectives. The role combines curriculum design, program delivery, and stakeholder engagement to drive measurable impact across the organization.

Responsibilities

Curriculum Design & Development

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive, multi-tiered business development training curriculum
• Create progressive learning paths covering foundational to advanced client development skills
• Partner with internal stakeholders to tailor content aligned with practice or business priorities
• Build and manage a repository of best practices, tools, and case studies
• Continuously refine programs based on feedback, performance metrics, and evolving business needs

Program Management & Delivery

• Oversee the annual training calendar, including scheduling and logistics across multiple formats
• Facilitate training sessions and coordinate internal and external instructors
• Integrate business development training into broader professional development initiatives
• Lead onboarding programs to align new hires with business development expectations

Measurement & Reporting

• Define and track key performance metrics for training effectiveness
• Analyze participation, engagement, and outcomes to inform improvements
• Provide insights and reporting to senior leadership on program impact

Stakeholder Engagement

• Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
• Serve as a trusted advisor on training strategy and business development skill-building

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
• 7+ years of experience in business development, professional services marketing, or training/program development
• Experience designing and delivering training programs, ideally in a professional services environment
• Strong understanding of business development concepts and client relationship management
• Expertise in instructional design and adult learning principles
• Experience coaching or advising professionals on business development strategies
• Familiarity with CRM systems and modern productivity tools
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Collaborative mindset with strong relationship-building capabilities
• High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information
• Ability to travel as needed
