RN ICU

The Registered Nurse - ICU is responsible for delivering expert nursing care in the intensive care unit, providing patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced critical care environment. A minimum of two years of ICU nursing experience and specialized certifications are essential for success in this position. Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU setting.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Respond to emergencies and provide life-saving interventions as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient status and nursing actions.
• Participate in charge nurse duties and support unit management as required.
• Float to other units as assigned to meet staffing needs.

• Active New York State Registered Nurse license.
• Minimum of 2 years ICU nursing experience.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

• Previous charge nurse experience.
• Experience working with patient ratios of 2-3.
• Familiarity with ICU-specific equipment and protocols.

• Must be licensed and authorized to work in New York State.
• Floating to other units may be required.
• Weekend shifts every other weekend are mandatory.
• Candidates must reside within a 75-mile radius of the facility.

• Work schedule includes weekend shifts every other weekend.
• Shift assignments may vary; floating to other units is expected.
