Work hours: Full Time, 36 Hours, 7:00am 7:00pm

Mom/Baby Department highlights:

  • Level II Maternal Designation with Level II NICU
  • Certified Nurse Midwife Hospitalist Based Model
  • 8 LDRPs, 5 Antepartum Rooms, 2 Operating Rooms
  • 40 45 deliveries per month

Qualifications

Here's What You Need:

  • Diploma in Nursing or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required
  • BSN preferred
  • One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
  • One year of Labor & Delivery experience strongly preferred
  • RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator, and coordinator for quality patient care
  • BCLS Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent care and maintained quarterly required
  • CPI Crisis Prevention Intervention training within 90 days and maintained annually required
  • NRP Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program required within 90 days
  • ACLS Advance Cardiac Life Support within 90 days required
  • NRPA Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required
  • What You Will Do:

    • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
    • Assess the patient
    • Plan the care of the patient
    • Intervene as appropriate
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions
    • Incorporate age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
    • Initiate action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
    • Maintain continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
