Data Analysis Intern

Civil Cad InternAs a Civil CAD Intern, this position offers the opportunity to work in a team environment on Civil construction projects utilizing the latest 3D CAD Technology to build 3D surface and terrain models, survey staking files, stringless files for GPS/Total Station controlled construction equipment.This is an office position and will be responsible for producing accurate and detailed 3D construction models and CAD files for civil engineering projects, such as airport & commercial facilities, industrial & residential developments, warehouses & distribution centers, public works infrastructure including highways & bridges, drainage systems & utilities, etc.Duties & Responsibilities:Draft 3D site models and survey staking files using CAD software, including Trimble Business Center and Civil 3DAssist in the review of designs for consistency, safety, operability, and maintenance requirementsCollaborate with Project Managers and other stakeholders to develop accurate designsMaintain and organize accurate records and filesPerform quality control checks on completed designsCommunicate effectively with project team members and clientsWork with internal staff to coordinate design and constructability solutionsOther duties as assignedSkills & Abilities:Understanding of civil designExperience with CAD Design Software (Trimble Business Center or Civil 3D, preferred)Knowledge of commonly used civil engineering concepts, practices, and proceduresAbility to read and interpret civil engineering plans and documentsAbility to understand drafting standards and design documentationExperience examining and checking engineering drawings for compliance with cited specificationsAbility to draft and clearly communicate RFI's (Request for information) and Proposals to Project Managers and EngineersWork efficiently in a team-oriented, fast-paced environmentDetail orientedEnjoys learning and taking on challengesExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Strong technical aptitude and knowledge of basic computer technologyStrong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks fast paced environmentDependable and able to work independently with little supervision as well as with a team of individualsMust have the ability to work extended hours as required by the workloadEducation & Experience:Experience with Trimble Business Center (TBC) is preferred, however candidates with a strong CAD background will be considered and training will be provided.2+ years of experience in civil CAD or related fieldAssociates degree in Engineering, Drafting Technology, or similar field, or equivalent experience, preferred.Proficiency in CAD software, preferably Trimble Business Center and Civil 3DKnowledge of construction and civil engineering principles and practicesStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities
