Role Description Senior Consultants are experienced members of Vantage's consulting teams who play a critical role in solving complex client problems, managing significant workstreams, developing junior team members, and delivering high-quality client work. This Senior Consultant will focus particularly on M&A integration, strategic alliances and partnerships, and organizational and operating-model effectiveness, primarily within life sciences and biopharma. Senior Consultants work closely with Vantage Engagement Leaders and Partners while taking significant ownership for the day-to-day delivery of engagements. They structure and analyze complex problems, lead client interviews and working sessions, develop insights and recommendations, manage workstreams, and translate strategy into practical solutions clients can implement. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in environments characterized by significant complexity and change—for example, helping two organizations integrate following an acquisition, strengthening a critical strategic alliance, redesigning an operating model, clarifying governance and decision-making, or helping a leadership team improve how it works together. This role is well suited to someone who combines strong analytical and consulting fundamentals with an interest in the people, organizational, and relationship dimensions of business performance. Key Responsibilities Lead significant workstreams within complex consulting engagements focused on acquisition integration, alliances and partnerships, organizational effectiveness, operating models, and leadership effectiveness. Structure complex and ambiguous problems , developing hypotheses, identifying key questions, defining analyses, and translating findings into practical recommendations. Support M&A integration engagements across activities such as pre-close readiness, Day 1 planning, integration governance, functional workstream planning, organization and talent integration, cross-functional coordination, and transition to business-as-usual. Support strategic alliances and partnerships by assessing alliance effectiveness and helping clients improve governance, roles and decision rights, joint planning, operating norms, communication, escalation, and cross-company collaboration. Conduct organizational and operating-model analyses , including assessments of structure, roles, governance, decision-making, capabilities, processes, ways of working, leadership effectiveness, and culture. Design and execute diagnostic activities , including developing interview guides and surveys, conducting executive and stakeholder interviews, synthesizing qualitative and quantitative information, and identifying meaningful patterns and insights. Develop high-quality client deliverables that translate complex information into clear, compelling executive-level narratives, recommendations, frameworks, and implementation plans. Plan and facilitate client meetings and working sessions , helping cross-functional stakeholders align around issues, decisions, priorities, and next steps. Translate recommendations into practical implementation , developing integration plans, governance models, organizational roadmaps, decision frameworks, playbooks, and other tools that enable clients to execute. Manage day-to-day workstream delivery , including workplans, timelines, dependencies, client inputs, team responsibilities, and risks. Build trusted relationships with clients across organizational levels and increasingly serve as a day-to-day advisor to client leaders. Coach and develop Associates and Consultants , providing direction, feedback, and support while helping maintain a high standard of team performance. Work closely with Engagement Leaders and Partners to identify emerging client needs and opportunities to expand Vantage's impact. Contribute to Vantage's thought leadership and business development, including research, proposals, case studies, articles, methodologies, and development of new offerings. Travel to client locations as required. Qualifications 4–6+ years of management consulting or highly relevant advisory experience , with demonstrated progression in responsibility and experience independently managing significant workstreams. Experience in one or more of the following areas strongly preferred: M&A integration and post-merger integration Strategic alliances, partnerships, or joint ventures Organizational strategy and organization design Operating-model transformation Leadership or organizational effectiveness Organizational change Experience in biopharma, biotechnology, healthcare, or life sciences preferred, including an understanding of complex, cross-functional organizations. Demonstrated experience working with senior client stakeholders and effectively managing day-to-day client relationships. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to synthesize complex qualitative and quantitative information and identify implications that are not immediately obvious. Experience conducting interviews, developing analyses, facilitating working sessions, and creating executive-level presentations and recommendations. Strong project-management skills and ability to independently drive multiple priorities and workstreams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong academic credentials and undergraduate degree required; advanced degree such as an MBA, MA, MSc, or equivalent is valued but not required. Brings drive and urgency to client work while remaining collaborative, adaptable, and grounded. Salary Range The annual salary range for this position is $110,000 to $185,000. The final compensation offered will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, and qualifications.
