CAD Designer / Drafter - Pump ManufacturingIndependent Contractor needed - Full timeFull time on-site, Telford, PAPosition SummaryThe CAD Designer/Drafter is responsible for preparing detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for pumps, pump components, and related equipment. This role works closely with Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure designs are accurate, manufacturable, and meet customer and company requirements.Essential ResponsibilitiesCreate and revise detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software.Prepare manufacturing, assembly, and installation drawings.Update drawings and documentation based on engineering changes.Verify dimensions, tolerances, materials, and specifications.Support engineering projects by creating layouts, part drawings, and assembly drawings.Work with production personnel to resolve drawing-related issues.Maintain drawing revision control and engineering documentation.Ensure designs comply with company standards and customer requirements.Assist with product improvements and cost-reduction initiatives.QualificationsEducationAssociate Degree or Technical Certificate in Drafting, CAD Technology, Mechanical Design, or related field preferred.Experience2+ years of CAD drafting/design experience in a manufacturing environment.Experience with pumps, rotating equipment, or industrial machinery preferred.Technical SkillsProficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar CAD software.Ability to create detailed fabrication and machining drawings.Knowledge of GD&T and mechanical drafting standards.Understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, fabrication, and assembly.Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and accuracy.Good problem-solving skills.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.Effective communication and teamwork skills.Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
