Teller - Float

Job Purpose This position will be responsible for providing excellent service to customers in accordance with Peoples Bank policies. Responsibilities include opening deposit accounts, processing teller transactions, selling bank products and services, assisting customers with maintenance requests, resolving customer service issues, and uncovering additional customer needs to refer them to appropriate business partners. This sales and service role is vital in helping the branch achieve its goals while delivering industry‑leading customer service. Travel Requirement Requires traveling to various locations to provide service. Daily reliable and timely transportation is essential to support staffing needs across the branch footprint. Job Duties Deliver superior customer service with a friendly demeanor, can‑do attitude, and willingness to help at all times. Develop and retain the customer base; greet customers by name, know account ownership, and respond promptly to correspondence and problem resolution. Maintain a position of trust and keep all customer business confidential. Receive checks and cash for deposit to savings and checking accounts, verify deposit amounts, and examine checks for endorsement and negotiability. Process complex multi‑step teller transactions. Research and offer solutions to resolve customer issues, using knowledge of the organization to identify helpful resources and follow up on resolution. Initiate conversations to uncover customer needs, refer customers to platform associates within the branch, and meet established referral goals. Make sales calls via phone or Zoom to clients and/or prospects on a weekly basis to meet branch calling goals; record these activities in Salesforce. Consistently meet or exceed sales referral goals as set by management and maintain a well‑developed working knowledge of the complete line of products and services offered. Maintain balancing and error records in line with policy; find and correct outages and enlist help as needed for more difficult errors. Follow operational standards regarding security, risk management, and compliance. Consistently complete required training for all bank and branch policies and procedures. Meet scheduled working hours as designated by the manager to ensure effective branch functionality and client service. Adhere to Retail Branch Standards, including dress code. Perform special projects as assigned. Education, Experience and Job Skills High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 1‑year related work experience in customer service. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with a high degree of accuracy and close attention to detail. Proficient in basic computer operations and standard applications, with the ability to quickly learn and navigate job‑specific software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Positive and professional attitude. Proven team player. Daily reliable and timely transportation for consistent travel to various branches. Consistent standing required; bending or squatting may also be required to access night drops, coin machines, vaults, ATM, etc., based on branch setup. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. consistently. Ability to travel for internal education and meetings, which may include overnight stays; also required for fill‑in duties at other branches. Trustworthy and confidential behavior is essential. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 1‑year related work experience in customer service. Daily reliable and timely transportation. Consistent standing required; bending or squatting may also be required to access night drops, coin machines, vaults, ATM, etc., based on branch setup. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. consistently. Ability to travel for internal education and meetings, which may include overnight stays; also required for fill‑in duties at other branches.
