Radiation Therapist

Role: Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department, responsible for delivering ionizing radiation treatments in accordance with physician prescriptions. Key Responsibilities Operate radiation equipment safely and accurately, performing complex technical procedures. Participate in quality control and ensure precise delivery of therapy. Assess patients, perform procedures, and provide specialized care tailored to age groups (adolescent, adult, geriatrics). Document all activities appropriately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Educate patients and families on treatment side effects and use of treatment aids. Complete patient set-ups, simulations, and scheduling with accuracy and adherence to physician orders. Follow safety protocols, including radiation safety measures and universal precautions. Recognize limitations, seek assistance when needed, and report adverse reactions immediately. Participate in on‑call rotations and serve as a clinical instructor for students, providing evaluations and feedback. Adhere to organizational policies, standards, and codes of conduct. Qualifications & Skills Associate degree or equivalent from an accredited program. Certifications: ARRT-T (Radiation Therapy) and BLS or ARC-BLS. Minimum two years of radiation therapy experience preferred. Ability to treat and simulate patients accurately. #J-18808-Ljbffr
