Test-drive vehicles, test components and systems, and use diagnostic tools and special service equipment. Diagnose and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning. Communicate directly with Service Advisors to inform customers of needed services and provide estimates of time for additional repairs. Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications. Knowledge & Skills 3+ years of Transmission Technician Experience Must be Ford/Lincoln Certified B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair Dexterity and steady hand coordination Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies Positive, friendly attitude with a willingness to improve Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications Knowledge of safety procedures and practices for operating or repairing vehicles and equipment Experience & Education High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver’s license and clean driving record ASE certifications a must Physical Requirements/Working Environment Ability to stand, sit, walk, stoop, crouch, kneel, push, and pull Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and assist in lifting up to 100 pounds Must be able to pass pre-employment testing including background checks and drug test Note: Randall Reed’s Planet Ford is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
