Overview Provide physical therapy services to students aged 6 to mid-20s with autism or developmental disabilities. Evaluate students and develop individualized therapy programs tailored to their needs and classroom routines. Collaborate with caregivers and staff to ensure therapy plans are aligned across home and school environments. Utilize various strategies, including exercises, manual therapy, and adaptive equipment recommendations. Conduct 30-minute therapy sessions for a total of 20 students requiring services. Document evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, and other required data accurately. Provide consultation and training to staff for effective carryover of therapeutic strategies. Maintain compliance with clinical and administrative record-keeping standards. Key Responsibilities & Duties Assess students using standardized tests, clinical observations, and medical/educational record reviews. Develop and implement therapy programs addressing musculoskeletal and neuromuscular impairments. Document evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, and discharge summaries. Provide in-service training to staff to support therapeutic strategy implementation. Collaborate with caregivers to ensure therapy plans are consistent across environments. Recommend adaptive equipment and assistive technology to enhance physical function. Maintain accurate clinical and administrative records in compliance with regulations. Perform other related duties as required to support student needs. Job Requirements Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program. Minimum of 1 year of pediatric experience with autism or developmental disabilities. Proficiency in developing therapy programs tailored to individual student needs. Experience with adaptive equipment and assistive technology recommendations. Strong documentation skills for clinical and administrative records. Ability to collaborate effectively with caregivers and educational staff. Knowledge of regulatory requirements for therapy services and record-keeping.
