MachinistComplete the setup, operation, gaging, and adjustment of various types of conventional or automatic machines used to produce precision parts and instruments.Duties And ResponsibilitiesAbility to follow safety and machine standard work.Setup of equipment through first piece inspection including tooling and material changes.Machines parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.Handling of raw materials and finished goods.Communication with co-workers, team leads, inspectors, and managementMeasures, examines, and inspects completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.QualificationsPerforms work under direct supervision.Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.Mathematical skills.Blueprint readingGaging knowledgeTechnical expertise.Manual dexterity.Physical stamina.
