About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical experience License: Valid RN license required Certifications: BLS required, not expiring within 30 days of start Must-Have: - Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical experience - Experience with EPIC charting system - Experience in Orthopedic diagnoses with medical overflow - Ability to float within scope of care/practice Description: This role involves providing care to adult and geriatric patients. The nurse will work on a unit focusing on orthopedic diagnoses, with some medical overflow. Expected patient ratio is 1 nurse to 5-6 patients. The nurse may float to a sister location as required. Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments, monitoring patient conditions, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. The position involves blood product administration, heparin management, isolation precautions, and wound care. Elective procedures include hips, knees, shoulders, and spine. No titrating drips except for heparin will be managed by the nursing staff. Experience with total joint replacements and tracheostomy care/management is necessary. The role requires rapid response team involvement when necessary. The unit's daily census is approximately 40 patients, with 40 beds available. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
