Lifepoint Rehabilitation in partnership with North Alabama Shoals Hospital (NASH) is seeking a BC/BE Medical Director for our Acute Rehabilitation Unit in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. This full-time position will collaborate with our Program Director and clinical staff in providing compassionate care to patients in our 32 semi-private bed unit. There is also an opportunity to do EMGs for our two hospitals in North Alabama.
About Our Hospital and Health System
North Alabama Shoals Hospital is a 198-bed, Joint Commission-accredited acute care facility located in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
As part of Lifepoint Health a diversified healthcare delivery network committed to making communities healthier the hospital provides a comprehensive range of services, including emergency care, surgical services, inpatient rehabilitation, behavioral health, and medically managed substance use detoxification.
Shoals Hospital is part of the North Alabama Market, alongside North Alabama Medical Center (NAMC), a larger tertiary care facility located just six miles away in Florence, Alabama. NAMC is a 263-bed, Joint Commission-accredited hospital offering an expanded breadth of services, including open-heart surgery, neurosurgery, labor and delivery, and intensive care.
The North Alabama Market also supports a robust graduate medical education program, with a combined cohort of more than 75 residents across internal medicine and psychiatry. This strong academic presence reflects a deep commitment to physician development and includes one of the state s largest internal medicine residency programs.
Together, these facilities form a highly collaborative healthcare network dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate, and patient-centered care close to home, while providing access to advanced specialty services within the community.
Position Qualifications:
- MD/DO required.
- Possession of/ability to apply for AL medical license.
- At least 2 years of training or experience in the medical management of inpatients requiring rehab services.
