- Performing thorough patient evaluations, ordering necessary tests, and devising personalized treatment plans
- Diagnosing and managing acute, chronic, or episodic illnesses either independently or in partnership with physicians (depending on your credentials)
- Educating patients and their families on preventive care, wellness, and effective management of diseases
- Prescribing medication and therapies in accordance with your scope of practice
- Engaging in patient follow-ups and chronic disease management
- Teaming up across various health disciplines to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care
- Maintaining meticulous electronic health records (EHR)
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Nevada
- National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or an equivalent specialty
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
