Principal

Position Title: Principal

Reports to: Superintendent

Professional Leadership:

Will strive to build positive relationships with the school and community.

Participates in committee structure to develop educational strategies for the school.

Will be punctual and regular in attendance.

Will follow school board policy and administrative procedures.

Will adhere to the state professional Code of Ethics.

Will maintain confidentiality when dealing with students and records.

Will use technology appropriately.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Interacts with students to encourage each individual to perform at their highest level.

Manages all building staff personnel.

Assigns teachers to classrooms and students to classes in accordance with site based policies.

Completes performance evaluation on all staff.

Resolves staff problems and provides support for teachers.

Provides general supervision to students.

Supervises extra curricular activities.

Evaluates all programs.

Provides in-service training to teachers and staff as needed.

Works with the school council to develop a school budget and manages the budget.

Implements policy and procedure changes from the School Council, the School Board or the Department of Education.

Other duties that may be assigned.

Qualification Requirements:

Persons in this position must meet current certification requirements determined by the Kentucky Department of Education.

Must complete required professional development and leadership training.
