Responsibilities

• Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures and safety guidelines
• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper handling, labeling, and documentation
• Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signatures as needed to confirm sample labeling accuracy
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment in accordance with policies and procedures
• Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients to foster trust and confidence
• Accurately maintain records and documentation related to specimen collection and processing
• Demonstrate leadership behaviors and process excellence while respecting confidentiality and patient information
• Work independently with minimal supervision, managing multiple priorities in high-volume settings
• Travel to different locations, including patient service centers and in-office phlebotomy sites, based on staffing needs

Required Skills

• Proven excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric blood collection techniques
• Ability to perform error-free work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in specimen collection and documentation
• Effective communication skills for explaining procedures and fostering trust with patients
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Proficiency in keyboard and data entry tasks

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington
• Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
• 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
• Experience working in a customer service or retail environment highly preferred
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record if travel is required
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting
