A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a high school Special Education Teacher in the Wilmington, DE area for the 2026-2027 school year. This position features a dedicated high school caseload and requires a professional who can confidently manage student cases while also bringing expertise in teaching special education social studies. Working hours are approximately 6:45 AM to 2:45 PM, for 35-40 hours per week.
Qualifications:
- Active or pending Delaware Special Education Teacher certification is required
- Experience managing high school special education caseloads preferred
- Ability to instruct special education social studies
- Spanish language skills are valued but not required
- Comfortable working on site and able to pass a drug screen and background check
Responsibilities:
- Oversee a high school caseload, ensuring students’ IEPs are implemented and documented with fidelity
- Serve as case manager, maintaining communication with teachers, parents, and support teams
- Deliver engaging instruction in special education social studies tailored to diverse learning needs
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate in developing plans to support student growth
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages academic and personal development
