Pacific County Voices Uniting (PCVU) is hiring a full time Lead Organizer in Pacific County. The Lead Organizer will be a valued member of the PCVU Team and report to the Organizing Director. This position will work on average 40 hours per week within the pay range of $25-28 per hour depending on experience. After 90 days, PCVU offers medical/vision and dental insurance to employees (and their families), 401k retirement plan, and up to 11 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Depending on FTE, employees will receive up to 6.7 hours of vacation and up to 4.3 hours of sick leave every month. PCVU is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Position Responsibilities Organizing and Collaboration Collaborate in the design and implement trainings for community organizers to enhance team learning and develop structured communication, organization, and productivity Support in creating tracks of professional development for each team members Prepare weekly report of goals/ progression on projects Supervise field organizing team members during electoral cycles; support team mates and members in direct and grassroots lobbying Conduct daily team debriefs by creating a safe space to not only share feedback but also receive and incorporate shared learning Canvass with team at least 2 (two) shifts per week and cover shifts as needed when a team member misses work Assist team members during canvassing time as needed Represent PCVU's purpose and values in all spaces while encouraging other team members to do the same Assist with developing and implementing the yearly field plan to engage community members Co-create organizing field program plans Create and plan identified outreach audiences in the voter database, cut turf, distribute lists, and ensure Community Engagement Organizers have the field supplies needed to canvass Community Engagement and Training Engage in a range of preferred communication methods/styles with people. Communication may occur via block parties, phone banks, door to door canvassing, house visits and other community engagement activities. Provide trauma-informed care with a harm reduction lens to assist community members in successful navigation of voting processes and member recruitment Collaborate on the creation, distribution, and translation of culturally-relevant voter engagement and education materials Prioritize relationship building and grassroots organizing Track community contacts to meet reporting requirements of program activities Collaboration Represent PCVU purpose and values in all spaces Work with Community Partners in creating awareness about engagement efforts Assist with developing messaging for program activities Create new partnerships and collaborations among various community groups Organization Help maintain script and survey responses for reporting requirements Help shape and plan community engagement strategies and activities Model organizational culture of learning, growth, and evolvement Assist when advised to advocate for policies on the local, state, and federal level Other responsibilities as assigned or as the organization continues to grow and develop Preferred Experience The lead organizer should have experience in community organizing, door-to-door canvassing, campaign field operations, or campaign management. Ability to speak a second language is preferred, but not required (Desired languages include Spanish, Laotian, Thai, Mandarin, and Vietnamese) Experience with the Voter Action Network (VAN) and MiniVAN Previous experience with creating and assisting in meetings or planning events Strong verbal and written communication skills are desired as the Lead Organizer will communicate with Executive Director and Organizing Director A willingness to learn and lead by example Able to accept praise, critical feedback, and seek evaluation Working Conditions The working environment as the Lead Organizer will be a mix of indoor and outdoor, physical, and stationary work. The Lead Organizer will work with the Community Engagement Organizers and will need to have a vehicle or reliable transportation to fulfill required job responsibilities.
