Onegoal of the Irsay Institute is to bring together university andstatewide expertise around mental health and stigma issues and tolook for ways to create sustainable change through networking withothers and developing policy recommendations. Job Summary The Institute seeks an experienced project manager to lead a teamof academic researchers and professionals at Indiana University,organizing and leading regular business meetings with stakeholders,managing events at a high programmatic level, and producing projectcontent and reports. Department-Specific Responsibilities Leads a team of academic researchers and professionals atIndiana University, the state of Indiana, and beyond to manageprojects with outreach, tailored communications, meetings, reports,and workshops across a variety of both major, grant-fundedinitiatives and smaller research and research-related projectsrelated to social science and health research in conjunction withIrsay faculty partners as they emerge. Organizes and leads regular business meetings with faculty,students, staff, and research subjects, including note-taking,coordinating team tasks, following up and corresponding with teamparticipants, alongside administrative tasks in support of specificprojects, reporting, and preparing and leading presentations. High-level programmatic event management, serves as a liaisonbetween the Irsay team, academic PI/Chair, and other eventsprofessionals in translating event vision and goals into timelines,budgets, communications, and action. Produces project content and reports for various audiencesincluding participants, stakeholders, policymakers, andfunders. General Responsibilities Manages medium to large projects, from start to finish,ensuring on time completion within budget. Develops project plan(s) and efficiently analyzes, tracks,forecasts, and reports on project metrics and shortfalls. Coordinates and facilitates efforts of project team(s)consisting of various staff and hourly employees. Communicates ongoing changes in tasks, goals, orperformance. Collaborates to ensure that project objectives are achievedwithin established time frames. Participates in client meetings, vendor/contract decisions, anddevelopment of project requirements and specifications. May provide guidance and support to less experiencedpeers. Qualifications Combinations of related education and experience may beconsidered. Education beyond the minimum required may besubstituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimumrequired may be substituted for education. EDUCATION Required Bachelor's degree in relevant field WORK EXPERIENCE Required 2 years of relevant experience. Preferred Familiarity with social science research SKILLS Required Ability to drive multiple projects to successfulcompletion. Demonstrates project management skills. Proficient communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent collaboration and team building skills. Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills. Highly thorough and dependable. Working Conditions / Demands This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and tooperate a computer and other standard office productivityequipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periodsof time moving around an office environment and the campus.
