Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Bacteriology

Labcorp

Labcorp seeks a Clinical Laboratory Technologist for bacteriology work in Tampa on a night shift (Tuesday-Saturday, 11pm-7:30am). The role involves performing technical procedures, operating laboratory instruments, and ensuring quality specimen processing and testing.

Responsibilities

Evaluate specimen acceptability and perform routine and complex technical procedures per SOPs
Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation for proper functionality
Prepare and evaluate new reagents or controls; make technical decisions for problem-solving
Document preventative maintenance, quality control procedures, and report accurate timely results
Maintain safe work environment and assist with specimen processing as needed

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
Microbiology MT Florida State License
ASCP or AMT certification preferred
3+ months clinical laboratory testing experience preferred
Proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems
Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
