About the Position

Job Title: RN - PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 18 months PCU experience required License: Valid RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Drain care, central line management, G/J tubes, heparin Gtt management, cardiac Gtt management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, NGT placement/management, management of various surgical drains Description: This position requires working in a progressive care environment. The unit has 20 beds with 3 progressive beds within the department. Patient types include HPB patients, women's surgeries, and plastic surgeries. Patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:6, with potential surge times of 1:7 to 1:8. CNA duties are available to assist with patient care. Charge nurses may assist with patient care, medication passes, and admissions. Consultation is available from an IV/VAT team. Resource nurses are available for mentoring on the night shift. Telemetry monitoring and technology support are provided. Shift rotation includes weekend expectations and holiday work. Strong teamwork is essential within the unit.
