Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a 13-week assignment requiring 3 years of main hospital OR experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Job Details

• Operating Room unit within a community hospital setting,
• 1:1 staffing ratio,
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM (40 hours/week),
• On-call required for nights, weekends, and holidays, typically one night per week,
• 2-3 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule,
• Uses Meditech charting system,

Job Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required,
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required,
• Minimum 3 years of main hospital OR experience required,
• Community hospital experience required,
• Experience across a broad range of surgical specialties including gynecology, plastics, orthopedics, general surgery, neurology, urology, ENT, thoracic, vascular, and robotic-assisted procedures preferred,
• Familiarity with equipment such as cell saver, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and Steris systems preferred,
• Skilled in emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, and malignant hyperthermia preferred,

Additional Information

• Responsible for assessing patients immediately upon admission to the OR, addressing biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, and discharge planning needs,
• Continuously reassesses patients and develops individualized intraoperative nursing care plans,
• Candidates will be reviewed and interviewed by the unit manager prior to offer,
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered as a traveler,
• Requested RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration, with a maximum of 5 days subject to manager approval
