Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Respiratory Therapist to provide care in a dynamic hospital environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a Level 3 Trauma Center and support a diverse patient population.

General Information

• Facility Type: 123 Bed Hospital
• Location: Spokane Valley, WA

Role Responsibilities

• Manage respiratory care for patients in various settings including medical-surgical, critical care, and emergency departments.
• Administer treatments using ventilators, BiPAPs, HFNC, and other respiratory equipment and accessories.
• Support patients of all ages, with a focus on adults and geriatrics, and some neonates as applicable.
• Participate in team collaboration for patient care and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist required.
• Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in Washington.
• Certifications: RRT, ACLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS are mandatory.
• Basic RT skills and some experience in a nursery setting are preferred, though not required if NRP certification is held.

Patient Ratios

Staffing assignments will depend on patient census and acuity, with a points system used to determine workload balance.

Support on the Unit

The Respiratory Therapy team is supported by a dedicated RT manager and team lead.

Technology/Equipment

• EMR: EPIC (Experience required)
• Ventilators: Getinge Servo-u
• Medication Dispensing: Pyxis

Scheduling

• Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM
• Weekend rotation required: every other weekend
• Orientation: 1 day of hospital orientation followed by 2-3 precepted shifts or more as needed.
• Schedule cycles released 6 weeks at a time.
