Medical Director Veterinarian

Our client is a hospital that is hiring a Medical Director on a full-time basis. Caring for dogs, cats, and pocket pets, this established practice has been serving the community since 2013. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced veterinarian to take on a leadership role within a busy and well-supported practice.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This position involves the full scope of Medical Director responsibilities, combining clinical practice with leadership, mentorship, and operational oversight. You will champion medical excellence throughout the hospital, mentor and develop associate veterinarians, and partner with the Practice Manager to build a healthy and engaged team. You will lead regular performance discussions, support individual development goals, and foster a culture of teamwork and retention. In addition to practicing as a veterinarian, you will set the standard for clinical quality, client service, and efficiency while helping drive hospital performance. Responsibilities include supporting annual operating plans, monitoring financial performance, ensuring compliance with medical and DEA regulations, leading monthly doctor meetings, and overseeing mentorship, externship, and recruitment initiatives. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.

Practice Details
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm, Saturday from 8:00am to 1:00pm, and is closed on Sundays. Services include a full scope of GP services, Urgent Care, and Orthopedics, providing a diverse and rewarding caseload. The practice is equipped with, but not limited to, Digital X-Ray, Digital Dental X-Ray, Ultrasound, and Tonopen technology. Additional services include laser therapy, behaviour therapy, pet boarding, and grooming.

You will be joining a team of 4 DVMs supported by dedicated veterinary technicians and client service professionals who share a commitment to patient-centered, compassionate care. The hospital is led by a supportive leadership team focused on the success and well-being of its associates, fostering a collaborative culture built on teamwork, communication, and professional growth.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
