The officers will also provide effective interventions and services for competency development and accountability to promote juvenile behavioral change and public safety.
Minimum Qualifications At a minimum, selected candidates must possess the following:
• Knowledge and/or experience of the criminal justice system to include court proceedings
• Knowledge of techniques to interview clients
• Knowledge of client counseling techniques
• Knowledge and ability to assess client needs and to develop case plans
• Knowledge and ability to identify community resources and human service agencies to support families
• Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing including the creation of written reports
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products
• A valid driver's license is required or the ability to obtain by the date of hire Additional Considerations Additional considerations include the following:
• Experience working with juveniles and their families
• Probation Officer experience
• Experience with community programming
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, guidelines and procedures
