Junior Graph Data Engineer

Salary: $66,000 - 94,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree with at least one year of relevant professional experience, or equivalent
• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Foundational proficiency in programming or scripting for automation, relational database querying, structured and semi-structured data formats, and knowledge graph concepts
• Basic understanding of data structures, databases, and data pipelines or ETL processes
• Ability to understand how individual pipelines support a broader enterprise ecosystem
• Attention to detail when aligning metadata, formatting endpoints, and maintaining schemas
• Ability to take direction, document work clearly, and explain technical decisions to non-specialists
• Preferred: exposure to graph query languages, enterprise graph databases, agentic AI or LLM orchestration, data lineage and metadata standards, government or defense semantic models, data catalogs, or workflow orchestration tools

• Help design and deploy automated pipelines that discover enterprise data assets and integrate with existing data catalogs
• Scan, catalog, and ingest technical metadata from legacy, cloud, and distributed environments
• Use automated workflows to ingest metadata at scale and keep the enterprise ontology current
• Register the technical origin of ingested data to support provenance tracking
• Work with senior engineers to align data elements with enterprise and domain ontologies while preserving local naming conventions
• Help build and maintain data lineage chains that document origins, transformations, and governance
• Develop and test basic graph queries for metadata retrieval, validation, and graph operations as skills grow
• Assess how integrated sources and pipelines affect enterprise architecture, use cases, downstream consumers, and search and discovery
• Connect data assets to relevant mission metadata and associate assets with ownership, classification, handling, and access information
• Help maintain and optimize the Enterprise Semantic Map so people, applications, and AI agents can find and navigate resources
• Collaborate with AI engineers to help agents query the graph and develop grounded retrieval and reasoning strategies
