The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) provides high-level clerical and administrative support in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role is responsible for managing high patient volumes, coordinating complex scheduling, and ensuring an exceptional patient experience while maintaining accuracy and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including payment collection and reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate patient demographic and insurance information within the CS-Link system.
- Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, including complex and multi-service visits (e.g., echo, EKG, labs).
- Monitor daily schedules, identify missed appointments, and facilitate rescheduling.
- Interpret and verify insurance benefits, including patient financial responsibility and authorization requirements.
- Maintain and update provider schedules, including handling changes and communications.
- Coordinate referrals and authorizations in compliance with healthcare regulations and internal policies.
- Act as a liaison between patients and clinical teams to ensure smooth patient flow.
- Retrieve medical records in accordance with clinical protocols and HIPAA guidelines.
- Support departmental operations through participation in meetings, huddles, and process improvement initiatives.
- Handle inbound calls professionally, triage messages, and route appropriately using ACD systems if applicable.
- Perform administrative and operational support tasks, including occasional courier duties within the facility.
- Adhere to infection prevention standards and organizational policies at all times.
- Assist with additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 2 years of healthcare administrative experience required.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong understanding of scheduling protocols and healthcare workflows.
- Experience with insurance verification and authorization processes.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently in a high-volume environment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards.
- This is a temporary, onsite role.
- Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Strong attention to detail and patient-centered service approach required.
