The Senior Education Manager invests approximately 50% of work time in the field providing leadership, mentoring, monitoring, and support to instructional coaches that are collectively implementing the instructional and comprehensive services model for the agency. The Manager ensures consistent implementation of high-quality coaching practices across program sites. This educational leadership role serves as a collaborative lead in education matters in early education including Head Start and subject matter expert in early childhood education, supporting continuous quality improvement through data-driven coaching, reflective supervision, and strategic professional development. The Senior Education Manager builds the capacity of instructional coaches, teachers, and campus directors to improve teaching practices, curriculum implementation to fidelity, school readiness outcomes, and family engagement. Through ongoing observation, guidance, and performance monitoring, this position fosters a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning across all levels of the organization. Implement the agency’s model of early education including instructional model. Provide strategic leadership, mentoring, and oversight to instructional coaches to ensure consistent implementation of Practice-Based Coaching (PBC) and high-quality instructional practices across multiple campuses and program options. Serve as the lead subject matter expert in coaching and adult learning practices, modeling effective coaching techniques, relationship-based supervision, and reflective practices while building the capacity of education staff and leaders. Monitor coaching effectiveness through data analysis, observations, and performance metrics, ensuring coaches achieve coaching goals and demonstrate measurable impact on teacher practice and child outcomes. Develop, implement, and oversee systems for tracking staff development, coaching progress, certifications, and competency attainment, utilizing data to identify trends, strengths, and areas requiring additional support. Lead the design, coordination, and evaluation of comprehensive professional development initiatives aligned with organizational goals, Head Start Program Performance Standards / Head Start Act, agency’s “studio” model, curriculum implementation, and evidence-based teaching practices. Analyze program-wide education, child outcome, and family engagement data to identify improvement opportunities and collaborate with directors and leadership teams to develop targeted action plans. Work closely with the Chief Data Performance Officer to review child outcome data and identify trends, strengths, and opportunities for improvement; partner with external assessors to externally evaluate program impact, program fidelity, and effectiveness Facilitate reflective supervision and professional growth opportunities for instructional coaches, supporting succession planning, talent development, and leadership readiness within the Education Department. Partner with Campus Directors, Education Leadership, Performance Coordinators, Family Services, and Home Visiting leadership to address instructional concerns, improve program quality, and ensure coordinated support for staff and families. Partner with IT to plan the use of technology tools in the classrooms that are supported by the agency. Provide leadership in monitoring curriculum fidelity and efforts for continuous quality improvement, ensuring consistent implementation of approved curricula, lesson planning practices, and developmentally appropriate instruction. Reviews instructional materials to ensure alignment with approved curricula, learning standards, program goals, and developmentally appropriate practices. Partners with CCA leadership, CCA Board and Policy Council for approval of curricula changes, policy changes and technology. Leads cross-functional initiatives and special projects related to education services, school readiness, teacher effectiveness, and accreditation or monitoring preparation, ensuring timely completion of goals and compliance requirements. Plays an instrumental role in the setup and operational readiness of existing and new CCA campuses (“CCA Studios”), collaborating across departments to support high-quality learning environments and successful openings. Support organizational readiness for federal and/or state reviews, audits, monitoring visits, and compliance activities by maintaining accurate documentation, analyzing education-related findings, and implementing corrective action plans when needed. Conduct regular field visits, classroom observations, and coaching reviews, spending at least 60% of work time in program settings to assess implementation quality and provide direct support to coaches and staff. Oversee professional learning communities (PLCs) and communities of practice, fostering collaboration, innovation, and the sharing of best practices across campuses and service areas. Provide direct coaching support as needed by maintaining a strategic coaching caseload, including goal setting, focused observations, modeling, reflective feedback, data analysis, and individualized professional development planning. Prepare and present reports, recommendations, and progress updates to Education Leadership and executive leadership teams, highlighting program performance, coaching effectiveness, staff development outcomes, and improvement strategies. Champion a culture of excellence, accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement, serving as a mentor and role model for staff while promoting positive outcomes for children, families, and the organization. Participate in and lead departmental meetings, staff development activities, leadership initiatives, and agency committees to support organizational priorities and strategic goals. Perform other duties and special assignments as required to support the mission, goals, and operational needs of the organization. Provide outstanding supervision of coaches, including corrective action, development plans, and a culture of engagement and support. Partner with development for privately‑funded enhancement of the CCA model including providing timely reports, and co‑creating opportunities for investment. Other duties as assigned up to 10% Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a closely related field required; A minimum of 3 years classroom experience of early childhood teaching experience with children under five years old. Previous experience and proven ability to prepare and conduct training workshops for adult learners. Previous experience coaching/mentoring towards quality improvement in early childhood setting teaching practices, curriculum implementation, classroom environments, and child outcomes. Be conversant on best practices and research in early education and care, including Head Start and Texas prekindergarten Skilled in collaboration across partners and all levels of the organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong ability to convey thoughts, ideas, and concepts that support both conceptual learning and knowledge application Microsoft Office proficiency as well as the ability to utilize software systems, data and leverage technology as an effective management and communication tool. Driving & Mileage Reimbursement (Frequent Driver): This position is classified as a Frequent Driver, meaning the employee is expected to drive their personal vehicle on CCA business multiple times per week or month. The employee must maintain a valid driver’s license, successfully complete a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, and provide proof of personal auto insurance meeting minimum liability limits. HR approval as a cleared driver is required prior to claiming mileage reimbursement in accordance with CCA policy.
