Registered Nurse Medical Surgical Neuro

Job Summary:

The Neuro and Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery acute care unit is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. This role involves managing a patient ratio of 1:4, primarily during night shifts, with a focus on neuro and head and neck surgery patients.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Evaluate patient conditions and implement individualized care plans in accordance with clinical standards.
  
  
• 
  Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians.
  
  
• 
  Monitor and document patient progress, reporting significant changes to the healthcare team.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and safety.
  
  
• 
  Adhere to hospital policies, including float policies, and maintain compliance with all unit-specific protocols.
  
  
• 
  Utilize Epic electronic health record system for accurate and timely documentation of patient information.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Valid Virginia RN license (pending licenses accepted; must be in hand by Wednesday before start).
  
  
• 
  Current BLS and NIHSS certifications.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrated experience with Epic electronic record systems.
  
  
• 
  Proven ability to work night shifts (3x12 hours, 19:007:00).
  
  
• 
  Strong understanding of neuro and head and neck surgery patient needs.
  
  
• 
  Ability to work within a patient ratio of 1:4 in an acute care setting.
