Preventive Maintenance Team Member for Naval/Commercial Ships

The following position is available to Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers. The position is designed to preserve and enhance equipment, where the primary goal is to prevent the failure of equipment before it occurs.

The role reports to the Preventive Maintenance Supervisor and involves conducting preventive maintenance according to a schedule of planned maintenance actions aimed at the prevention of breakdowns and failures. This includes establishing a maintenance schedule, then planning and conducting that maintenance. Equipment checks, oil changes, lubrication, and other preventive procedures are also part of the responsibilities. The role requires recording equipment conditions including deterioration and corrosion, and following established procedures, manufacturer's technical manuals, instructions, and pre-established guidelines to schedule, plan, and perform the functions of the job. Systems readiness for activation is also ensured. A basic understanding of Austal USA procedures such as POS 103, 126, 127, and 130 is required.
