Purchasing Specialist

Opening can be in any of the following locations: Appleton, WI-Columbus, OH or Romeoville, IL.At FCX Performance/a subsidiary of Applied Industrial Technologies the Buyer/Specialist role has an immediate impact on our customers, on our company performance, and on personal earnings. In this role, you will be purchasing products and materials, updating and managing inventory and stock levels, building relationships with suppliers and negotiating with them for the best price, quantities and delivery timescales.What you'll do:Maintain system costs and inventory levels using Epicor Prophet 21 (P21)Investigate and resolve warehouse and invoicing discrepanciesWork closely with accounting to resolve issuesUpdate system pricing based on vendor price sheetsReview and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly purchasing reportsCommunicate with suppliers regarding order status, lead times, delays, and product availabilityObtain quotes from vendors/suppliersProvide timely updates to the Sales team regarding supplier communications and customer order statusPerform system cleanup and maintenance of part numbers, supplier records, and related purchasing data to ensure accuracySupport purchasing operations to ensure product availability and data integrityWe seek:Previous purchasing or procurement experience preferredAttention to detail: accurate data entry skills, basic math & reading skills.Beginner to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft ExcelAbility and desire to quickly learn new processes and systemsExperience with high volume in distribution or manufacturing environmentsExcellent organizational and problem-solving abilitiesAttention to detail and a commitment to data accuracyExperience with Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) is a plusWhy Join Us?
