Stone Hearth Estates is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and team-oriented Cook / Dietary Aide to join our Dietary Team. This position is responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining kitchen sanitation standards, assisting with resident dining services, and creating a positive dining experience for our residents.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with seniors, works well in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in preparing meals that are nutritious, appealing, and safely prepared.
Schedule- 6:00am–7:00pm shifts
- Rotating schedule
- Full-time positions available
- Fewer workdays per week with longer shifts
- Every other weekend and holiday rotation applies
- Prepare menu items according to recipes and dietary guidelines
- Ensure food quality, presentation, and proper portioning
- Maintain adequate food stock levels and assist with inventory
- Monitor temperatures during food storage, preparation, cooking, and service
- Follow all sanitation and infection control procedures
- Properly label and store food items
- Assist with kitchen cleaning and organization
- Participate in preventative maintenance and cleanliness of kitchen equipment
- Assist with prompt and professional meal service
- Respond appropriately to resident requests and concerns
- Record meal totals and process meal charges/payments as needed
- Support resident-centered dining experiences
- Assist with special meals, events, and food programs
- Work collaboratively with coworkers and leadership
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality
- Follow up appropriately regarding resident or staff concerns
- Maintain compliance with all facility policies and procedures
- Previous cooking, dietary, or food service experience preferred
- Knowledge of safe food handling procedures preferred
- ServSafe certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Compassion for seniors and residents in assisted living and memory care settings
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds
- Ability to bend, squat, reach, and perform repetitive motions
- Exposure to kitchen heat, cleaning chemicals, and food preparation equipment
