Schedule: Full-Time Days with rotating weekends, holidays, and on-call

Salary: $65,000 – $75,000 annually

Position Overview:

A leading acute care hospital in Northern New Mexico is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU to join its Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality post-operative nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring patient stability, safety, and comfort.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and indirect post-anesthesia patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
• Monitor patients’ physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs during recovery
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and communicate effectively with the care team
• Ensure safe recovery and stabilization of patients following surgical procedures
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Document all patient care accurately and timely in medical records
• Support patient and family education regarding post-operative care and recovery
• Maintain adherence to hospital protocols, safety standards, and quality care guidelines

Requirements (Must-Haves):

• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or compact state
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 3 months of hire
• Minimum 1 year of PACU or acute care nursing experience preferred
