Senior Project Manager (Material Handling)

Job Description

Impact Business Group is assisting a Global Material Handling manufacturing client with hiring multiple Senior Level Project Managers.

• These roles can be based in is based in -- Grand Rapids, MI; Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX, Plano, TX Henrietta NY, Milwaukee WI or Salt Lake City UT
• Relocation assistance is available. With that said:
• 50% travel required to project sites. Remote option when not traveling, but will have to go into one of the above locations periodically.

These are formal Project Manager roles working on projects up to $100M in scope, with a preference for Candidates that have experience in the Material Handling industry.

The focus of these roles are on new systems implementations for large scale customers, implementing various material handling solutions.

An ideal candidate will be someone that has successfully managed several large scale projects with a focus on meeting customer deliverables while achieving internal KPIs and key stakeholder expectations.

These roles will have significant impact on the business, with exposure to executive leadership.

Please Notes: These roles do require 50%+ travel within the United States and Canada.


Job Requirements

• Experience working with the Site Manager and the EHS&S Group on the safety of people, systems, and the environment as per company or legislative requirements.
• Conducting project assessments, capturing lessons learned, and preparing final close-out reports.
• Accountability for project Risk and Opportunity management, including risk mitigation strategies and actions with appropriate risk owners.
• Organization and management of the project team and resources.
• Ensuring that customer and partner concerns are addressed and resolved effectively by the line organizations.
• Conducting all required project team meetings (kick-offs, periodic or ad-hoc reviews), critical & steering committee meetings, and maintaining a list of action items in the established project management system.
• Reporting project status to program, portfolio, business unit, regional, and/or global Management.
• Preparing monthly PSR workbooks with support from project controlling.
• Maintaining good control over the cost development of the contract against budget and providing detailed forecasts of future cost expenditures.
• Developing and maintaining the Project (Execution) Plan throughout the project lifecycle.
• Presenting with ME/CE/GSO Leads to ensure completion of vital specifications for third-party components and resale. Supporting Resale by presenting and negotiating with suppliers as needed.
• Translating the project contractual technical requirements into deliverables and tasks for the engineering teams, including design/layout, emulation, order entry, drawings, and commissioning
• PMP Certification is required
• An ideal background is in manufacturing, material handling, construction (data centers) type of background
• Will also consider Software Engineering focused project management using formal Project Management tools and techniques
