Embedded Software Development Engineer

Job Description Apex Systems is looking to hire an Onsite Embedded Software Development Engineer for our client based out of Grimes, IA. This assignment is anticipated to be a 12 month contract with strong potential for extension; however, Apex Systems cannot guarantee the length of this assignment. This will also have a first shift Monday–Friday schedule. Responsibilities Design, develop, deploy, and support embedded software for electronic products Record, track, and drive software defects to resolution Investigate and resolve software issues in a timely manner Ensure quality embedded software and electrical components for on‑highway vehicle systems Develop model‑based embedded software using MATLAB/Simulink Interface with cross‑functional stakeholders to define and meet software requirements Experience 3+ years of experience using MATLAB/Simulink in an embedded environment Experience with CAN J1939 and other vehicle communication protocols Knowledge of embedded software development processes and programming techniques Experience debugging embedded systems Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Experience with HIL or SIL testing is a plus Prior on‑highway or automotive industry experience preferred Experience with C/C++, ANSI C, and model‑based software design preferred Benefits Weekly pay, direct deposit, competitive pay rates Health/Medical benefits, Life Insurance, 401k, Employee Stock Purchase Program Discounts to most major certification programs, access to multiple technical training platforms and programs EEO Employer Apex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
