About the Role

We're an early-stage open-source MLOps infrastructure startup building the orchestration layer for ML pipelines and AI agent workflows. We're looking for a GTM Engineer to own our entire US presence and community from the ground up — a one-person outpost role based in San Francisco, reporting directly to the founding team.

This isn't a traditional marketing or sales role. You'll be the connector, the voice, and the person who turns conversations into traceable pipeline. The mission: make this company a known name in the SF AI-infra scene through events, community, and authentic technical evangelism.

What You'll Do

• Own and run the SF developer community from zero — including hosting a bi-weekly meetup series that becomes the go-to event for the ML-infra crowd.

• Work the AI-infra meetups, hackathons, and conferences that matter; build a visible personal brand and network across the Valley.

• Be the connector — the person who knows everyone, introduces them to each other, and turns relationships into community momentum.

• Evangelize credibly through talks, blog posts, social content, and short demo videos rooted in real community insights.

• Demo the product live in front of technical audiences, answer real questions, and hold your own with ML engineers.

• Instrument community and product signals (Mixpanel, GitHub, CRM, enrichment tools) into an automated flow — enrichment, scoring, follow-up — so every conversation becomes a traceable pipeline rather than a forgotten business card.

• Serve as the eyes and ears in the Valley: what people are building, what frustrates them, who's evaluating what — and feed that intelligence directly back into product and GTM strategy.

What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

• 1–3+ years in DevRel, community building, growth, or developer-facing GTM roles, with a demonstrated track record of hosting events and converting attendee engagement into measurable business outcomes.

• Ability to demo and explain Python frameworks live to technical audiences, read and understand code, work with APIs, and communicate technical concepts to ML engineers (you don't need to be an engineer yourself).

• Experience building and scaling developer communities or running technical events from zero, with a track record of growing attendance and engagement.

• Proficiency with modern GTM stack tools: CRM platforms, data enrichment tools (Clay or similar), API integrations, and basic automation workflows.

• Experience instrumenting and measuring community/event initiatives using product analytics (Mixpanel or similar), GitHub signals, and CRM data to track pipeline and ROI.

• Demonstrated ability to create and distribute technical content (blog posts, demo videos, social media) that resonates with developer audiences.

• Proven ability to convert manual, one-off community activities into repeatable, scalable, measurable systems.

• Comfortable operating in a self-directed, early-stage environment with minimal hand-holding.

• Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate — this role is on-site and does not work remotely.

Nice-to-haves:

• Existing professional network within the SF AI, ML infrastructure, or MLOps community.

• Prior experience building or contributing to open-source communities and familiarity with GitHub-native developer behaviors.

• Familiarity with the MLOps, LLMOps, or AI agent infrastructure landscape.

• Experience running product-led growth (PLG) or usage-based GTM motions.

• Visible personal brand: public speaking, conference talks, or recognizable community presence.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $120,000 – $250,000 USD annually, depending on experience.

• Direct access to founders and outsized early-stage impact.

• Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Location

This is a fully on-site role in San Francisco, CA . Presence in the local AI/ML community is central to the job — remote work is not an option for this position.
