Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,960-$2,280
• Start Date: 10/5/2026
• Assignment Length: 26 weeks
• Schedule: 5 shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 8 Hour Days
• Hours: Business hours, typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Setting: Hospice home care
• Weekend/Call: Weekend rotation typically once or twice per month and overnight call rotation as needed
• Orientation: 1-2 weeks

Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required
• Hospice RN experience required
• Active RN license in the state of Maine
• BLS certification
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to use a personal vehicle to travel from patient home to patient home
• Strong clinical skills in caring for patients with oncology diagnoses, dementia/Alzheimer's, end-stage CHF/COPD, and advanced neurological conditions
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers considered with hospice experience

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to hospice patients in home-based settings
• Manage a case load that typically averages 15 to 20 patients
• Assess patient needs, develop care plans, and coordinate services with the interdisciplinary team
• Deliver compassionate end-of-life care and support to patients and families
• Document care accurately in the electronic medical record system
• Collaborate with scheduling, clinical leadership, and support staff to ensure continuity of care
• Participate in weekend and on-call rotations based on staffing needs
• Support nearby territories when needed based on patient census
