Description: The facility is licensed for 457 beds and operates a Level 3 trauma center. It is recognized as a stroke center of excellence and a bariatric center of excellence. There are 19 operating room suites, with 17 rooms being block scheduled. The department averages 50 surgical cases per day. Surgery specialties include trauma, orthopedic trauma, orthopedic total joints, spine, cardiac, vascular, gynecology, gynecologic oncology, robotics, general surgery, HPB, bariatrics, urology, ENT, eyes, pain management, and plastics. Candidates must have experience scrubbing for trauma, orthopedic trauma, orthopedic total joints, spine surgeries, cardiac procedures, vascular surgeries, gynecological surgeries, gynecologic oncology, robotics, general surgery, HPB, bariatrics, urology, ENT, eyes, pain management, and plastics. Neuro experience is a hard stop; candidates must have recent and comprehensive experience with globus, robotic navigation, ALIFs, TLIFs, and ACDFs. Experience with both lateral and anterior cases is also required.

The department supports a collaborative culture, with service line clinical supervisors, charge nurses, educators, and support staff available. The electronic medical record system used is EPIC, with various department-specific equipment utilized. Travelers will be required to work weekends, with a rotation that includes every fourth weekend. Scheduled shifts typically run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Call shifts are also a requirement, averaging six call shifts per six-week schedule. The response time for call shifts is 45 minutes. Travelers will work 75% of holidays, with requests for time off subject to managerial approval. The dress code for surgical staff is provided.
