Manager, Community Relations

The Community Relations Manager for the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins, is responsible for developing and executing community outreach programs that strengthen the organization's connection with the Northeast Florida community. This position will lead the team's charitable initiatives, community appearances, and outreach programs while working closely with internal departments to enhance the Jumbo Shrimp brand and deliver meaningful community impact.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement community outreach initiatives that strengthen relationships between the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp and the Jacksonville community while building partnerships with local nonprofits, schools, youth organizations, civic groups, and business organizations throughout Northeast Florida.
• Determine and coordinate player, mascot, front office, and leadership appearances at community events, charity functions, sponsor activations, and speaking engagements, including managing transportation and logistics as needed.
• Plan and execute community-focused events and programs including youth clinics, school programs, nonprofit fundraisers, volunteer initiatives, and community celebrations that enhance the team's presence throughout the region.
• Oversee the organization's charitable giving initiatives including donation requests, in-kind contributions, silent auction items, and fundraising programs while identifying new opportunities for nonprofit partners to raise funds through ballpark initiatives such as fundraising ticket programs, Launch-A-Ball, and the 50/50 raffle.
• Use discretion and independent judgement to organize and manage in-game community recognition programs including nonprofit spotlights, honorary guests, themed community nights, and select autograph sessions with players.
• Develop and implement the organization's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives while supporting Major League Baseball and Minor League Baseball community programs and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with marketing, promotions, and corporate partnerships teams to highlight community initiatives across digital platforms, social media, in-game promotions, and sponsor activations.
• Ensure accurate reporting of all charitable activities through Minor League Baseball's reporting platforms and assist in implementing league-wide community initiatives from Major League Baseball.
• Represent the organization at community meetings, chamber of commerce events, nonprofit functions, and civic engagements while managing chamber memberships and coordinating staff participation.
• Collaborate with internal departments to support fundraising initiatives, ensure contractual community activations are fulfilled, and assist with special events and other organizational initiatives throughout the baseball season.
• Partner with ticket sales and group sales teams to support community ticket programs, nonprofit group initiatives, and fundraising events while maintaining responsibility for achieving individual ticket sales goals and meeting daily, weekly, monthly, and annual sales activity targets.
• Supervise and mentor interns, provide day-to-day guidance, delegate tasks appropriate to skill level, evaluate performance and provide regular coaching.
• Maintain accurate customer records, prospect pipelines, and community engagement tracking through CRM software and internal reporting systems.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in community relations, nonprofit engagement, public relations, or sports administration.
• Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage community partners and stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and event management skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays based on the team's game schedule and events.
• Strong problem solving, attention to detail, execution, management, and customer service skills with the ability to identify and develop relationships with potential clients and vendors.
• Excellent leadership, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Passion for community engagement and creating meaningful fan experiences.
• Regular in-person attendance is required and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the team's game schedule.
