Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a 26-week contract with a focus on cardiovascular and open-heart care. The role requires proficiency in advanced critical care procedures and the ability to manage complex patient cases for adult and geriatric populations.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and monitor advanced cardiovascular interventions including arterial lines, PICC lines, and IV therapies.
• Interpret and respond to dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases to inform patient treatment plans.
• Manage ventilated patients, ensuring proper ventilator settings and suctioning as needed.
• Perform central line care, blood product administration, and IV start procedures following established protocols.
• Maintain and document patient care activities accurately within the Epic system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive critical care and ensure patient safety.

Qualifications:

• Valid California RN license required at the time of submission.
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, with cardiovascular, open heart, and balloon pump experience preferred.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH VIP, MAB, or CPI certifications (in-person courses only).
• Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting EKGs, managing ventilated patients, and practicing emergency procedures.
• Ability to pass an advanced EKG exam with at least 80% on two attempts.
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment.
