Principal Systems Engineer

The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Long Range Radars (LRR) department is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to support the GLOBUS program. This position is located on-site in Woburn, MA, and offers a unique opportunity to join a small, cross-disciplinary team of Systems, Software, and Integration Engineers. This team is responsible for investigating software and hardware defects and identifying performance enhancement opportunities for a deployed radar system.

What You Will Do

• Analyzing radar system performance data with respect to requirements.
• Identifying performance deficiencies and proposing solutions.
• Defining and prototyping new algorithms to enhance system performance.
• Presenting plans, designs and system performance to peers, internal leadership and external customers.
• Providing subject matter expertise to agile software development teams to ensure proper implementation of requirements.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with system concepts such as detection, discrimination, track, and/or signal processing algorithms.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Proven ability to develop technical solutions to complex issues.
• Experience working with tools such as Jira and DOORS.
• Strong communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to interface with customers and lead the development of technical solutions to challenging requirements.
• Proficiency in Matlab and the MS Office Suite.
• Experience with the development and coding of system models, algorithms, test vectors and analysis tools in support of analyzing radar requirements and performance
• Experience with system level requirements development, documentation and maintenance and/or requirements development and design of system level software architecture
