CV Anesthesiology Locums Opportunity

CUMC is in need for CV anesthesiology locums to cover open heart, thoracic, vascular and structural heart cases. Must be TEE certified and cardiac anesthesiology fellowship preferred. Providers will cover general cases, if needed. Locums will be assisting with general OR in addition to above.

RATES: (strictly follow)

• Malpractice Must be included in rates.
• Orientation $275-285 - half the hourly/callback rate, kicks in after 8 hours. "Per hour of orientation or training beyond 8 hours"
• Hourly $550-570 - "Per hour, not OT"
• Holiday $825-855 - Must be 1.5x the hourly rate. "Per holiday hour, no OT"
• Nightly Call $1,300-$1,500 - "Per night call to hold the pager, to include 2.5 hours gratis"
• Holiday Nightly Call - $1950-2250 - "Per night call to hold the pager, to include 2.5 hours gratis"
• On Call (Daily) $4,250-$4,600 - "Per 24 hours to include 4 hours gratis"
• 24 Hour Holiday Call Rate - $6375-6900 - "Per 24 hours to include 4 hours gratis"
• Call Back $550-570 "Per hour of patient contact hours, after gratis hours are completed, gratis prorate to MSA terms."
• Holiday Call Back $825-855 "Per holiday hour of patient contact hours, after gratis hours are completed, gratis prorate to MSA terms."
• Average callback: weekday 2-3h, weekend 1-2h

Schedule/Availability Requirements:

• ASAP start - preferred
• Ongoing availability through Dec 2026

Unrestricted overnight call and weekend call; Monday - Friday 8-10 hour days

Setting: 187 bed Level 1 Trauma / Academic Center, 15 ORs in main, 3 endoscopy suites, 2 EP Lab / TEE / Invasive & Non-invasive Cardiology / Neuro IR/ Bronch / MRI Lines / Obstetrics

Credentialing Information:

Timeframe: 60 - 90 days

Requirements:

• Must have completed an approved ACGME or International equivalent CV anesthesia fellowship AND achieved at least testamur status in Advanced Perioperative Echocardiography (NBE)
• If fellowship trained applicants are not available, new hire must have at least five years documented CV Anesthesia experience with letters of recommendations from both anesthesiologists and CV surgeons AND achieved testamur status in Advanced Perioperative Echocardiography, as defined by NBE

3. How many cardiac surgical cases per year? 360-450 Cardiac cases per year
4. How many cardiac surgeons on staff? 2 cardiac surgeons on staff
5. Are cases hands on? Cases are hands on, they may need to supervise a CRNA occasionally
