Senior Data Scientist - AI Engineer (Healthcare)

Salary: $180,000 - 250,000 per year Requirements:

• Masters degree or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related technical field; a masters degree is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in machine learning, AI, and Python; at least 3 years working with DICOM; experience with clinical information systems is preferred (2 years).
• Expert proficiency with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Ultralytics YOLO, MONAI, and Hugging Face.
• Demonstrated experience with medical imaging datasets, DICOM workflows, PACS systems, and radiology modalities.
• Hands-on experience using FiftyOne, Roboflow, Labelbox, V7, or Encord for dataset curation, annotation, and quality control.
• Proven ability to lead research initiatives and publish or present advanced imaging work at academic or industry venues.
• Strong background in segmentation, detection, multimodal architectures, and imaging-specific preprocessing pipelines.
• Experience deploying models with Core ML, ONNX Runtime, NVIDIA TensorRT/DeepStream, or major cloud ML platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Solid engineering skills in Python, GPU computing, Docker/Kubernetes, and scalable machine learning systems.
• Familiarity with medical AI regulatory frameworks, including data privacy, auditability, and reproducibility standards.
• Experience collaborating with radiologists, imaging scientists, or clinical imaging teams is preferred.
• Experience developing vision-and-text diagnostic or triage models is preferred.
• Experience working in a startup and on small teams is preferred.

• Lead research and development of advanced models for CT, MRI, X-ray, ultrasound, and multimodal image fusion.
• Direct academic-level research, including novel model design, benchmarking, ablation studies, and scientific validation.
• Turn research findings into production-ready systems that are reliable, scalable, and relevant to clinical diagnostic workflows.
• Build and oversee pipelines for dataset ingestion, cleaning, labeling, augmentation, multimodal alignment, and large-scale imaging data management.
• Evaluate models, analyze errors, test robustness, and optimize performance for high-speed inference.
• Ensure workflows meet regulatory expectations for data governance, auditability, reproducibility, and medical AI compliance.
• Partner with engineering, product, and clinical teams to deliver models that advance diagnostic intelligence and clinical decision support.
