Plant Supervisor

Plant Supervisor (260001AQ) Vulcan Materials Company is the nation’s largest producer of construction aggregates and a major producer of aggregates-based construction materials including asphalt and ready‑mixed concrete. Responsibilities Promote Safety: Prioritize safety to ensure all assigned plants have zero accidents and comply with all Vulcan policies. Organize and Plan Production: Plan daily operation scheduling of plant production to ensure optimal utilization of plant and equipment, personnel, and inventory requirements. Manage Employee Relations: Provide leadership, training, team building, and supervision to employees; work cross‑functionally with HR for recruitment, merit increases, disciplinary actions and performance evaluations. Monitor Processes and Materials: Analyze production and quality control to ensure a quality product; monitor operational reports; implement preventive maintenance to limit disruptions. Maintain Compliance: Build a strong safety culture; manage health and safety of employees to continuously improve performance. Inspect Equipment and Perform Repairs: Assist and organize daily inspection and maintenance of plant equipment to maximize production and minimize interruptions. Additional Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience: Previous experience supervising production employees, preferably at an aggregate, sand/gravel or asphalt plant. Leadership and Management: Ability to provide strong leadership and mentorship, motivate and maintain interpersonal relationships. Operational Knowledge: Knowledge of rock and sand mining, ready‑mix concrete and/or asphalt operations, MSHA regulations, engineering principles, and quality control systems. Interpersonal Skills: Excellent motivator and team builder; effective communicator with internal and external audiences. Financial Knowledge: Ability to lead financial performance to established targets. Working Conditions: Able to work outside in all weather conditions and tolerate loud noises.
