More about our team Our Perioperative Services Department provides the majority of surgical care for Cochise County, supporting a wide range of specialties including orthopedics, general surgery, urology, gynecology, podiatry, spine, vascular, and endoscopy. We are proud to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across the surgical continuum. Our team is highly collaborative, with a shared focus on safety, efficiency, and excellent patient outcomes. Perioperative Services is a great place to work, with schedules that are generally Monday through Friday, consisting of four 10-hour shifts. Some call coverage is required to support after-hours and urgent patient needs. The pace can be fast and at times demanding, but it is also highly fulfilling for those who enjoy hands-on care and being part of a dedicated surgical team. How You'll Contribute A PACU RN who excels in this role: * Performs duties as assigned and requested. * Completes focused patient assessments and reassessments based on patient's condition, procedures, medications, and treatments. * Adequately assesses and reassesses pain; utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. * Provides patient care and communicates effectively with patients of all ages and with specific needs. * Demonstrates knowledge of medications and ensures correct administration following the six rights to minimize medication errors. * Assists physicians with procedures and provides services requiring technical and manual skills. * Performs treatments and delivers care within licensure scope. * Ensures patient safety by performing all aspects of care in an environment that reduces the likelihood of errors. * Operates and manages equipment safely and correctly. * Educates patients and families on disease processes and recovery expectations. * Participates in performance improvement and continuing education. * Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed. * Maintains regular and reliable attendance. * Performs other duties as assigned. * Patient Populations Served: Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult. What we're looking for: Applicants should have a current Arizona or compact state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include: * Associate's Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's or Master's Degree preferred. * Must have an active Arizona or Compact RN License. * BLS required. * ACLS, PALS certifications are required within 1 year of hire. * One year of experience preferred More About Canyon Vista Medical Center People are our passion and purpose.
