Air Reserve Technician (ART) Enlisted Position

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) involved in the removing, installing, troubleshooting, interrogating, overhauling, adjusting, testing, modifying, calibrating, and repairing of complex integrated aircraft pneudraulic systems and equipment on board conventional/nuclear certified aircraft supported by the organization and to provide training to and evaluation of all assigned personnel, e.g., Active Duty, Reservist, Civilians, Contractors and foreign military as required in the accomplishment of duties set forth herein.

Duties include conducting scheduled/unscheduled maintenance and periodic inspections on all pneudraulically operated systems on/off aircraft in accordance with established procedures, performing troubleshooting of complex integrated pneudraulic systems of related on/off equipment for assigned and/or transient aircraft, performing off-equipment maintenance and bench checks to support the repair cycle, utilizing safety practices and tool control procedures to maintain a safe and clean work area, and preparing/executing effective training plans to maximize training for all assigned personnel.

Requirements include U.S. Citizenship Required, males must be registered for Selective Service, PCS cost will not be paid by gaining unit, this position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program, employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, employee must maintain current certifications, must be a current member of the AF Reserve or willing/qualified to join, advance in hire may be authorized if there is demonstrable proof provided on your resume, recruitment incentive may be authorized for this position, relocation incentive may be authorized for this position, leave accrual may be authorized upon request, direct deposit: all federal employees are required to have direct deposit, depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period, upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest, AFSC: 2A6X5/TSgt/E-6.

Qualifications include the ability to follow oral and written instructions, skill and knowledge in the use of standard hand and power tools/equipment, materials accounting and security, ability to read and interpret a variety of technical data, and knowledge of USAF Technical Order Program and its procedures, comprehensive knowledge of operation, capabilities and limitations of aircraft pneudraulic systems, ability to use a variety of test and measurement equipment, ability to document in aircraft forms/MIS, clean work area and/or job site upon completion of work, ability to overhaul, repair, calibrate or fabricate aircraft pneudraulic equipment, ability to troubleshoot aircraft pneudraulic equipment of moderate complexity, knowledge of safety and security requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations and technical orders.
