Position Details Job Code: JC-524114 Position Number: 280-653-4177-094 Working Title: Accountant I (Specialist) Classification: ACCOUNTANT I (SPECIALIST) Salary Range: $3,934.00 - $4,923.00 A Number of Positions: 1 Work Location: Sacramento County Telework: Hybrid Job Type: Permanent, Full Time Work Shift: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Work Week: Monday - Friday Job Description and Duties Under the direct supervision of the Senior Accounting Officer (Supervisor), the Accountant I performs routine and complex semi‑professional accounting work and accounts‑maintenance functions related to the Claims Processing and Benefit Payment Control activities that include fraud prevention and detection, establishment of overpayments, employer and claimant assistance, and maintenance of employer and claimant accounts to ensure the integrity of the Unemployment Insurance (UI) Trust Fund. The incumbent makes monetary eligibility determinations and adjustments as they relate to various Claims Processing and Benefit Payment control workload processes, and utilizes a variety of databases to analyze information from Federal, State and Departmental sources in determining the appropriate action for the UI and Disability Insurance (DI) programs. The incumbent must be flexible and adaptable to frequent workload changes based on organizational priorities. This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the department and is subject to change as business needs arise.
