Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1 year in an urban, Level I Trauma Emergency Department License: Must have a valid RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS Must-Have: Prior experience in a Level I Trauma ED Description: The Registered Nurse will work in the Emergency Room. The nurse-patient ratio will be 1:4. Candidates must have prior experience in a busy, urban emergency department. Experience in a teaching hospital is preferred. First-time travelers are accepted for this position. The nurse will be required to work every other weekend. Floating to different units may be required. Certifications preferred include TNCC and CPI. The nurse must be proficient in the Epic charting system. Responsibilities include managing and caring for patients with various emergency conditions. The position involves triaging patients, administering medications, and performing necessary procedures. The Emergency Room has a diverse patient population, including neonates, adolescents, and geriatrics. The daily census includes approximately 120 visits, with a patient capacity of 34 rooms. Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, social services, pharmacy, and radiology, among others. The RN will need strong clinical skills related to trauma and emergency care. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage complex and high-stress situations effectively. The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and team members is essential.
