Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: ADN Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Med/Surg, nephrology, kidney transplants, renal, dialysis experience Description: This position is for a Med Surg nurse specializing in transplant nephrology. The unit has 20 beds with a patient ratio of 1:6. There are unit secretaries available during the day, and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) are also present. A unit educator is part of the staff. The documentation system used is Meditech. The schedule requires three weekend shifts per month. There are no on-call requirements. Agency and contract nurses will float first as needed. Patient experience is prioritized in this role. Procedures performed on this unit include medical/surgical care; dialysis is conducted off the unit. The dress code consists of royal blue scrubs, with black scrub pants permitted. Teamwork is highly valued, and an award is given for demonstrating this collaboration. Additionally, a virtual nurse handles patient admissions, allowing bedside nurses to concentrate on their other patients.
