About this position Our law firm is looking for an attorney who is ready to represent our existing client base. The ideal candidate will work closely with the firm’s clients, administrative staff, and senior partners. If you have the ability to handle a diverse caseload, have stellar research and writing skills, can communicate effectively, and use today’s technology well. Compensation: $110,000 - $190,000 yearly Responsibilities: Prepare various legal documents, such as motions, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence Identify client conflicts and determine case strategies with options for resolution Represent clients in court to argue motions during legal proceedings Manage administrative assistants, paralegals, and law clerks Provide legal counsel to clients by analyzing their needs and determining a proper course of action Manage a docket of personal injury cases from intake through resolution Prepare demands, motions, discovery requests/responses, and other legal documents Conduct depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials Develop a case strategy and advise clients accordingly Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and insurance carriers Supervise support staff as necessary (e.g., paralegals, case managers) Maintain accurate and timely case records using legal case management software Qualifications: Public speaking, decision-making, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are necessary for this role Well-versed in legal research software (Westlaw/Lexis) Over 1 year of experience representing clients in a law firm Able to work independently while handling multiple files Successful completion of accredited law school with Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree with 2 years of related experience Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school Active license to practice law in Colorado and in good standing Minimum of 3–5 years of litigation experience, preferably in personal injury Demonstrated trial and courtroom experience Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment with little supervision Client-focused, ethical, and driven to achieve justice About Company Admitted to the Bar in 1991, Timothy Bussey is an experienced criminal and civil trial lawyer who has been a prosecutor, defense attorney, Active-Duty Judge Advocate with the US Air Force, and a District Attorney in El Paso and Teller County.
